Why am I seeing dialog "Please click Cancel, this is Chrono testing download configuration..."?

If you prefer to keep the "Ask where to save each file before downloading" option in your browser enabled, here are some steps to adjust Chrono's settings:

  • For normal downloads:
    If the Save As dialog appears when starting a download normally, go to Chrono's Options > General > New Task Defaults and uncheck Save file to last used location. Please note that this will completely disable the feature for saving files to the last used folder.

  • For Chrono's New Task dialog:
    If the dialog appears when using Chrono's New Task interface, navigate to Options > Interface > New Task Dialog and uncheck Enable folder selection. Keep in mind that this will fully disable Chrono's built-in folder selection feature.

If you see this "Save As" dialog when starting a download, it typically means your browser settings need to be adjusted. The following configurations are required for Chrono Download Manager to work smoothly:

  1. Choose a Safe Download Location Browser's default downloads location must be a regular non-system folder that Chrono Download Manager has permission to write to. For example, system folder like C:/ on Windows or /System on Mac OS would cause problems for Chrono.
  2. Disable Browser Download Prompts Configure your browser to download files automatically instead of asking where to save each file.

How to Configure Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome Settings by typing chrome://settings/downloads in your address bar
  2. Find the "Downloads" section
  3. Click "Change" to set your default download location to one of the recommended folders:
    1. Windows: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Downloads or create a folder like D:\Downloads
    2. Mac: /Users/[USERNAME]/Downloads
  4. Uncheck the box that says "Ask where to save each file before downloading"

Dear Chrono Download Manager Team,



I’m experiencing an issue with the latest version … show moreof Chrono Download Manager. Every time I attempt to download a file, a window containing this website pops up asking me to set a default download folder. I prefer choosing the download location for each file individually rather than setting a default folder, and this prompt disrupts my workflow. What's worse, everytime I close this window, the whole browser will be forced to close.



Could you please look into this problem and provide a solution that allows users to select the download folder for each file without being forced to set a default? If this cannot be achieved soon, please at least solve the "force close" problem first or stop letting this window to pop up. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

我甚至还不能取消管理器的自带新任务弹窗

我一直都是用cent浏览器内置的下载框,今天看到有更新,按着方法选了一下,结果就一直给我弹出来chrono的白色界面的新任务框,不能调用浏览器的了,取消了打勾重新启用也不行,卸载插件重装了也一样,只能能禁用了,烦诶
